MALAYSIA’S VISION 2019-2030

Towards zero single-use plastics for a cleaner and healthier environment in Malaysia by 2030 for a sustainable future

IMPACT OF USING PLASTIC AND NON BIO DEGRADABLE MATERIALS

  1. Plastic pollution is a global problem
  2. Plastics takes thousands of years to breakdown
  3. Destroys flora and fauna
  4. Causes natural disaster due to interference in the ecosystem

WHY ARE PLASTIC STRAWS DANGEROUS

  1. Plastic Straws cannot be easily Recycled. Although type 5 plastic can be recycled, it isn’t accepted by most curb side recycling programs. When plastic straws are not recycled, they end up in landfills, or even worse, polluting our oceans.
  2. Plastics do not Biodegrade, and never fully degrade and that is a red danger to the environment.
  3. Straws often end up in rivers and oceans and harm the poor ocean animals
